Few people know that Tyre’s coast has what is known as a reef of sea turtles, a sign of the richness of Tyre Bay and the need to preserve its marine environment. Tyre Bay also includes a vital sea turtle nesting area. According to UNESCO, the Tyre Coast Nature Reserve is an important sanctuary for endangered loggerhead and green sea turtles, reflecting the bay’s biodiversity and underscoring the urgent need to protect it.
